Activity 1 – Comparative Analysis focuses on assessing the overall situation, legislation, and approaches to waste management in the Slovak Republic and in Sicily.

Within the scope of the analysis, various aspects of waste management in these regions will be compared, best practices that could be applied in other countries will be identified, and the knowledge of employees in waste-related authorities and companies, as well as the broader public's attitudes toward recycling, waste reduction, and separation, will be evaluated.

The outcomes of the comparative analysis will serve as the basis for implementing subsequent project activities, as the findings will be used to determine the topics of the educational workshops.

The final version of the comparative analysis will be published online in July 2025.
