Waste Wise: Enhancing Governance for Sustainable Waste Management is an Erasmus+ project within the Small-scale Partnerships for Vocational Education and Training program. 

It focuses on improving the professional development of employees of public officies and companies operating in the field of waste management and administration. By doing so, it supports sustainable growth, quality job creation, and reinforces European identity, legislation, and active citizenship.

By comparing two different approaches to waste management—one from Slovakia and one from Sicily—the project will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each model and explore the potential for transferring best waste management practices to other countries.

As part of the project, more than 120 public and private sector employees will be trained. The training courses will cover waste management and relevant legislation.
